Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of StirLoom ("we," "our," or "us") and the service available at my.stirloom.com (the "Service"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

StirLoom is a web-based application that allows families to collect, organize, and share recipes. We provide the platform; you provide the content.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, or have verifiable parental consent.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• One account owner (Admin) creates a collection. Additional family members may be invited by the Admin.
• You may not share your account credentials with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.

3. Subscriptions and Payment

• New accounts receive a 30-day free trial, followed by a 3-day grace period if no payment is made.
• After the trial and grace period, a subscription of $35 per year is required to continue using the Service.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each year. You may cancel at any time from the Billing page.
• We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods, except where required by law.
• Prices may change with reasonable notice. We will notify you before any price change affects your renewal.

4. Your Content

• You retain ownership of all recipes, photos, and other content you add to the Service ("Your Content").
• By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process Your Content solely to provide the Service.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content, including recipes sourced from third parties.
• You may export Your Content at any time using the Export feature. Your recipes are never deleted solely due to subscription expiration.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service

6. Collection Members

• The Admin of a collection controls who has access. Collection members accept an invitation to join.
• Admins may remove members at any time. Removed members lose access to the collection.
• Collection members are bound by these Terms when they accept an invitation.

7. Public Share Links

If you generate a public share link for a recipe, that recipe becomes accessible to anyone with the link. Admins can revoke share links at any time from Settings. We are not responsible for content shared via public links.

8. Termination

• You may delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting info@stirloom.com.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may retain certain data as required by law.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of any recipe content.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StirLoom's liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
